Athabasca University's Faculty of Business is currently recruiting for a permanent, full-time Learning Designer and Editor.
The Position:
Together with the course team, integrates technology and engagement into the learning process.Ensures that course learning elements are designed and developed effectively for online delivery.
Ensures that Athabasca University Faculty of Business-developed course learning elements are correct,coherent and internally consistent, pedagogically sound, and that they conform to AthabascaUniversity's Faculty of Business editorial and production standards.
Ensures that course development and production procedures adhere to applicable quality standards andcourse development deadlines are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher, preferably in education/educational technology, business, or English.
- Knowledge of learning/instructional design principles and learner engagement technologies, and how interactive learning elements affect curriculum design.
- Four years of related work experience, or the equivalent, preferably in a distance educationfield as an instructional developer or designer.
- Professional editing or writing experience, and satisfactory completion of AthabascaUniversity's/ Faculty of Business editing test.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Strong skills in MS Office, Adobe, HTML, and Internet applications, as well as commonlearning platforms (e.g., D2L Brightspace).
- Experience with asynchronous and synchronous collaboration and communication platformsis an asset.
