JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Executive Director of the Program Management Office (PMO), the Program Manager is focused on improving AFL's end-to-end delivery on all aspects of assigned programs in four distinct regions. The incumbent in this role leads a team of professionals, as well as project coordination/administration support, managing overall resources and work, in order to meet Program targets. In doing so, the primary focus will be sustainable growth, profitability and standardization; and ensuring strong and engaged stakeholder relationships.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTING OUTCOMES
- Ensure SOWs are clearly defined and communicated with clarity on roles and accountability.
- Prepare for and facilitate weekly update meetings with Drop Managers, Project Managers, ISG Managers, Drop Co-ordination, Deployment for each of the four regions, addressing challenges, successes, capacity, resources, responsibilities, etc.
- Regularly meet with Project Managers and other members of the project team as applicable.
- Prepare and provide status reports to internal stakeholders, including Finance and the Executive Team.
- Liaise with Finance in regard to client invoicing, time sheets, etc.; approve invoices for external contract work.
- Build and foster strong client relations, acting as primary point of contact.
- Meet with and provide regular updates to client.
- Support Field and Program team in managing deliverables as per SOW, when needed (i.e. managing Drop placement)
- Provide business and technological support to projects and programs.
- Develop standard processes and requirements to be adhered to by all projects.
- Provide input into proposals based on experience and technological knowledge.
- Help build and maintain positive relations within the team
- Protect organizations' values by keeping information confidential
- Enhance organizational reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment
- Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL
- Employee may be asked to perform other ancillary or related duties as required, to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field
- PMP Certification is an asse
- 5+ years of working experience related to project/program management ideally within the Telecommunication or Construction industry, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership capacity
- 2+ years of field/operational experience in the Telecommunication or Construction industry is an asset
- Intermediate understanding of finance/accounting knowledge
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in the use of MS Office - specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and MS Project
- Proficient in the use of project management software (e.g. MS Project, Primavera)
- Strong data management skills
- Demonstrated experience conducting presentations, training and workshops
- Client and contract negotiation skills
- Well-versed in both leading and supporting change management
