Better Living Health and Community Services is searching for a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as Coordinator, Active Living Programs. If you are energetic, collaborative and passionate about providing dynamic and exceptional programming for older adults then this is the opportunity for you

This position oversees the day to day operations of the Senior Active Living Programs primarily at 1 Overland Drive and 5 Deauville Lane which includes developing, implementing and evaluating programs and also monitoring and assessing programs and clients/members throughout the day.

The successful candidate for this position must have the following qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a recognized Diploma program in Health and Wellness, Gerontology, Social Services, or a related filed.
  • A minimum of 1 years or more years of working experience working with older adults
  • Strong working knowledge of database uses, MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector Screening within one month of employment

The successful candidate(s) for this position must be able to:

  • Plan, implement, evaluate, and promote Active Living Programs to meet members' needs
  • Monitor and evaluate activities ongoing basis
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities to achieve the plan
  • Organize and plan in the preparation and proofing of seasonal program guides
  • Prepare weekly membership e-blast
  • Manage membership database to keep accurate records
  • Provide on-going support to Members and Clients as needed
  • Work closely with Volunteer Services team to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations, performance reviews, and monthly hours' report for volunteers
  • Maintain effective communication to work as a team with various departments internally and community organizations externally
  • Ensure proper financial management practices for the daily operation of the Active Living Centre's
  • Complete administrative duties including the production of reports, correspondence, and attendance records
  • Travel between two Active Living Centres located at 1 Overland Dr. and 5 Deauville Ln.
  • Work evening and weekend shifts as required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
