Our team is located in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada. This position will be able to work out of Saskatoon, SK or Humboldt, SK. You should be able to commute to either location. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the completion of specific projects for the company while ensuring these projects are on time, on budget, and within scope. By overseeing a project from inception to completion, a Project Manager has the potential to help reduce costs, maximize efficiencies and provide the best representation of the company to hiring clients.

In addition to managing specific projects from inception to completion, your role is expected to develop and initiate customer relationships whenever possible. Your work experience and history should be able to drive new opportunities for the company.

​​Role and Responsibilities​

1.Initiating –
each new project should begin by defining the main objectives of the project, it's purpose and its scope. All team expectations are discussed and shared and the authorization to move the project forward is approved.

2.Planning –
once final authorization is approved, the PM works with the support team to create a project plan and attain the outlined goals.

  • Collect requirements from Key Stakeholders
  • Define the scope of the project
  • Create a work breakdown structure and identify key project milestones
  • Define project activities
  • Create a timeline
  • Build in contingencies
  • Communication
  • Document everything

3.Executing –
the PM's role is to assign this work and to ensure that tasks are completed as scheduled.

  • Scheduling crew
  • Approve employee hours
  • Site manager for all Tremblay Electric personnel
  • Purchasing material
  • Attend site meetings as needed

4.Monitoring and controlling –

  • Monitoring the progress of the project
  • Great communication
  • Being aware of the project's budget and performance
  • Ensuring that key milestones are reached
  • Being ready to adapt to changes as necessary

5.Closing –

  • Work with the client to get formal sign-off that the project is complete
  • Ensure all final information is available for final invoicing and closing out the holdback releases
  • Set up close meeting with General Manager and Operations Manager to identify and review key lessons learned. Understanding what went well, what could have gone differently, and what to stop doing, can improve management practices moving forward.

6.Any other duties as assigned

​​Qualifications and Education Requirements​

  • Experience in Commercial/Industrial/Water and project management.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale electrical projects from start to finish.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Any certificates are an asset.
  • Excellent organizational, managerial and planning skills.
  • Ability to continuously demonstrate professional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to resolve practical problems, keeping appropriate parties aware of issues or risks.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Time management.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude and initiative.
  • Proven team player – no "island" mentality.
