As a Geoscientist-in-Training, you will join our Calgary, Alberta office as part of our Western Groundwater team. This is a temporary, 3-month contract position. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of exciting projects with responsibilities as follows:

• Active participation in maintaining Montrose's strong safety culture
• Assist with the development and implementation of field programs
• Perform a variety of field work including collecting drill cuttings/core/soil and groundwater samples, installing monitoring wells, conducting pumping tests, conducting packer testing, and installing, setting up and collecting data sets from groundwater monitoring equipment.
• Work with Project Managers to develop workplans that ensure project deliverables are in line with scope, timelines and budgets
• Support a variety of technical reports including analyzing, interpreting results and reporting on compiled project data
• Travel, often to remote locations, will be required to carry out field programs
• Complete projects with a variety of off highway vehicles (e.g. side by sides, ARGOs), and helicopters

What We Are Looking For

• An undergraduate or graduate degree in geology, hydrogeology, environmental engineering, or a related field
• Eligibility to register as a Professional Geoscientist/Engineer-in-Training with APEGA
• Basic understanding of hydrogeologic principles such as aquifer analysis, aquifer testing methods including pump testing and k-testing, and core logging, will be considered an asset.
• Aptitude to work with various Microsoft applications and software such as Excel will be considered as asset.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Self-starter, a positive attitude, and enthusiasm to learn and grow.
• Possess a valid Class 5 driver's license and a clean driving record
