What it's like to be a Northbridge Bilingual Senior Actuarial Analyst/Consultant
As the Senior Actuarial Analyst, you will be known in the organization for being an expert in providing insights to many teams, including claims, finance, and underwriting. This allows us to best serve our customers while mitigating risk. You'll use your strong actuarial knowledge to analyze trends, identify emerging risks, and ensure pricing strategies align with business objectives. The team leverages data-driven insights to enhance rate adequacy, competitiveness, and profitability across the commercial portfolio.
You are passionate about digging deep into the data to uncover meaningful insights and providing your take on what we should do next. This doesn't just mean being good with numbers – it also means being able to explain complex findings in a clear, compelling way to leaders without an actuarial background. Working in collaboration with other actuaries and data scientists within our team, there are opportunities to utilize advanced analytics and predictive modeling to refine pricing structure and ensure that Northbridge stays on the cutting edge in this competitive industry.
We want your talent
If you are great at:
Using actuarial techniques to price complex commercial risks and ensure rate adequacy.
Developing and validating key assumptions to support pricing accuracy and decision-making.
Understanding products, underwriting strategies, and market dynamics to provide informed recommendations.
Clearly documenting methodologies to make complex actuarial concepts accessible.
Effectively communicating results and recommendations to non-actuarial stakeholders.
Performing deep dive analysis.
Reviewing actuarial planning indications.
And you have:
Post-secondary education with a major in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
Associate or near-Associate designation with CAS or CIA.
Minimum 5 years of experience in an actuarial-related field.
In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products and strong understanding of actuarial pricing techniques (including GLMs and other statistical models).
Advanced proficiency in actuarial tools and programming languages such as Excel, PowerPoint, SAS, SQL, and Python.
Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and findings to non-actuarial stakeholders.
We really mean it when we say we put you first. Here are a few ways how:
Competitive salaries and support for your financial health through our employee share purchase plan, pension plans, RRSP, discounts on staff insurance, and more.
Prioritizing your well-being from day one through flexible health benefits, early leave days, wellness programs, rewards, and recognition programs.
Investment in your career growth through education assistance to complete your CIP, FCIP, CRM or other desired courses, internal mobility, leadership training, and mentoring programs.
NBFC cares about the community and supports the causes you believe in with donation matching and team volunteer days.
