Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, friendly and outgoing person to provide social support to a male patient who has an acquired traumatic brain injury from a car accident.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient with friendly conversation and stimulating mental activities, like: math, reading, writing, playing games
  • Accompany patient on social outings such as: the movies, the coffee shop, planned events (bowling, dancing) for disabled folks
  • Assist patient with physical activities: walks, stairs, and stretching, light exercise to maintain strength

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Must have a valid driver's license and transportation (own personal vehicle)
  • Must have recent Vulnerable Sector & Criminal Record Check or be willing to obtain within 48 hours
  • Must be physically strong to help patient back up if they fall down
  • Must be comfortable being around people and in new social situations
  • Compassionate, outgoing, and patient personality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
