What You'll Do
As an Engineering Design & Drafting Technologist, you'll support mechanical engineering design and drafting for new development, improvements, and production engineering. Your work will include:
Creating 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation using specialized software.
Designing simple mechanical components for platforms and payloads, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Assisting with prototyping, testing, and confirming designs alongside the engineering team.
Peer reviewing drawings and change control documentation.
Operating a 3D printer when required.
Collaborating with senior engineers to meet project timelines and budgets.
Recommending improvements to processes and workflows.
What You Bring
Post-secondary diploma or higher in an engineering-related field.
CET designation through ASET (or eligibility).
Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering design and drafting.
Proficiency in parametric modeling and drafting software (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Bonus if you have:
Experience with autonomous or uncrewed vehicles.
Knowledge of fabrication processes (metalwork, wiring, electronics).
Familiarity with FEA, CFD, and technical writing.
Security & Safety Requirements
Must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident.
Eligible for Canadian Class 2 Security Clearance including background check and criminal record screening.
Comfortable working in a safety-sensitive environment (factory floor, testing, deployments).
Able to lift up to 15 kg and occasionally travel off-site.
