Position Summary:

  • The RA will perform experiments to support multiple projects in the lab. The type of work will include, but is not limited to, animal behaviour, biochemical analyses, molecular and cell biology experiments, histology, flow cytometry, cell culture. Importantly they will maintain a complete paper and electronic lab notebook
  • The RA will handle administrative laboratory tasks including but not limited to ordering of supplies, managing chemical and drug inventories, managing animals and maintaining records including tissue and bio banks
  • The RA will work directly with and support students, postdocs and other members of the lab
  • When requested, the RA will manage the progress of individual research projects
  • Maintaining equipment in the Krock lab, including that purchased with CFI funds

Qualifications:
Proficiency with data analysis programs, specifically GraphPad Prism or R, will be a benefit.
The candidate will have an MSc and prior pain research experience. They will have expertise with relevant experimental techniques including animal behaviour, cell culture, immunofluorescent staining, fluorescent and confocal microscopy.
