Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain to join our team on a casual basis, providing spiritual and emotional support to residents, families, and staff within our long-term care community.

About the Role

The Casual Chaplain provides spiritual care services that respect the diversity, dignity, and beliefs of all residents. This role supports the emotional and spiritual wellbeing of individuals through presence, prayer, pastoral visits, end-of-life support, and participation in spiritual programming.

Key Responsibilities

• offer one-on-one pastoral care and supportive visits to residents.
• provide emotional and spiritual support to families during times of illness, transition, and grief.
• Lead or assist with worship services, devotionals, memorial services, and special observances.
• Collaborate with the care team to support holistic resident wellbeing.
• respect and accommodate a wide range of faith backgrounds and spiritual needs.
• Maintain appropriate documentation of visits and interventions.
• provide on-call or short-notice coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• training in chaplaincy, theology, pastoral care, or related field
• clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent experience preferred.
• experience working with seniors, palliative care, or long-term care is an asset.
• strong communication, empathy, and listening skills.
• ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• comfortable supporting individuals from diverse spiritual traditions.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $22.19-$41.44 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 5 per week
