Job Summary:
This role requires strategic thinking and a deep understanding of the hospitality industry. The Catering Sales Manager's key role is developing and implementing sales strategies, building relationships with key clients, and collaborating with other departments to ensure excellent guest experiences and profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the clients experience is successful and function as the brand ambassador throughout their journey
- Build long-term relationships with planners and hosts to increase loyalty to the brand
- At pre-event planning stage consult with meeting planners to optimize all elements of the meeting including space, break flow, menu, and design to improve meeting efficiency
- Arrange agreed details of the meeting event (e.g. room set-ups, staging and tech requirements)
- Conduct pre-event meetings with clients and catering colleagues
- Meet with each meeting planner daily to debrief on daily events
- Conduct banquet and catering facility tours and entertain clients to enhance the guests' meeting and banquet experience
- Help plan menus and logistics for each event
- Follow up with past clients to acquire new business
Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in the hospitality field, preferably in a full-service hotel
- 2 years' experience in Food & Beverage and event planning preferred
- Excellent leadership skills, analytical skills, and communication skills and time management
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Opera experience is an asset
- Able to speak both official languages is an asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
