Job Description
Who we are looking for:
Wabasca Desmarais Housing Authority/Keekenow Senior Facility is seeking experienced Licensed Practical Nurses who likes small town living In this position you will demonstrate genuine interest and respect for the facility's Elders/Residents while providing safe and effective nursing care according to facility policies and nursing care standards. The LPN is responsible to collaborate as a member of the health care team, delivering consistent quality care, to meet the needs of the Elders/Residents. Must be able to work within a team environment and to effectively contribute to Elder/Resident planning processes. Excellent communication skills, a compassionate and caring attitude, and attention to detail are necessary.
Some Key Duties
- Ensure an environment that maximizes clients' dignity, independence, privacy, freedom of choice and decision making
- Provide nursing care to residents and promote resident safety and comfort
- Ensure that client care plans are implemented and adhered to
- Assist with new admissions and orientation
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
- Current License with College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation or Basic Life Support.
- Hepatitis B, tetanus vaccinations and TB testing required.
- Experience in relevant position.
- Speaking and understanding Cree would be an asset.
Job Type: Casual
Pay: $42.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Wabasca, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Licence/Certification:
- CLPNA Practice Permit. Must provide Membership Number. (required)
Work Location: In person
