Let's help you launch your career with Alberta Veterinary Laboratories ("AVL/Solvet") We are looking for an energetic and dedicated Validation Technician to join our team on-site in our Calgary facility working 40 hours/week (Monday - Friday).

THE ROLE

Under the direction of the Validation Manager, the Validation Technician is responsible for performing and supporting validation activities, including Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), Performance Qualification (PQ), Process Validation (PV), Cleaning Validation, Testing Method Validation, and Software Validation.

The objective of this position is to ensure proper validation processes are in place and followed to validate our products and ensure quality in our deliverables.

DAY-TO-DAY

  • Develop and execute Testing Method Validation protocols to ensure that analytical methods are accurate, precise, and suitable for their intended purpose.
  • Perform Cleaning Validation to ensure that cleaning processes effectively remove residues and contaminants, preventing cross-contamination.
  • Execute and document validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ) for equipment, systems, and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Conduct Process Validation (PV) activities to confirm that manufacturing processes consistently produce products meeting predetermined specifications and quality attributes.
  • Participate in Software Validation activities to ensure that computer systems and software applications used in the manufacturing and quality processes are reliable and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the creation, review, and approval of validation documentation, including protocols, reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Production, and Engineering, to ensure successful validation activities and resolve any issues.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all validation activities, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Utilize enterprise resource planning (ERP) software Acumatica for documentation and resource management.
  • Implement and follow quality management system (QMS) protocols using ZenQMS.
  • Manage and track assets using AssetTiger to ensure proper maintenance and validation status.
  • Other duties as required

IDEAL FIT

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 3-7 years of experience in a validation role within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related industry, preferably in veterinary pharmaceuticals.

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, multi-tasking ability, and ability to deliver results under time constraints
  • Self-starter with experience managing functions and training team members in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to meet prioritized deadlines in a diversified company
  • Can-do attitude, high emotional intelligence (EQ), and a positive approach to enhancing diverse working relationships

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • On-site in SE Calgary
  • GMP compliant facility
  • 40 hours/week (Monday - Friday)
  • Occasional interaction with chemicals and hazardous materials
