We are looking for a creative, dynamic, and detail-oriented Communications Coordinator to join our small team. The ideal candidate is proficient in graphic design, content creation, and web management, with a keen ability to take direction, work as part of a team, as well as work independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design visually appealing marketing materials for print and web using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator; preference of Adobe over Canva).
  • Create and manage content for WordPress websites.
  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns using MailChimp.
  • Manage BC Wood's social media accounts
  • Create a content calendar and schedule social media posts using buffer
  • Assist with basic web development tasks using HTML and CSS.
  • Manage multiple projects, meeting deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Assist in organizing events and trade shows
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite for reports, presentations, and project coordination

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – Preferred experience in InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint (Required)
  • Experience with WordPress and Elementor for website management
  • Understanding of copywriting, email marketing, and social media strategies
  • Basic knowledge of web development (HTML, CSS) is a plus.
  • Tech-savvy with a willingness to learn new tools and platforms.
  • Creative mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to take direction and work independently or collaboratively
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Analytical mindset with solid problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

Work Environment

  • Company policy is 5 days in office; however, we are currently on a hybrid schedule which is subject to change based on team collaboration requirements.
