Building Operator

Toronto, Ontario, Canada HighView Partners Full time

Our client is a privately held real estate ownership and management platform with a long-standing presence in Toronto. The organization manages a stable, urban portfolio of mixed-use assets and is known for its hands-on operating style, long-term asset hold strategy, and commitment to maintaining well-run, community-oriented buildings.

Your New Employer

You'll be joining a real estate firm that values stability, long-term ownership, and practical decision-making. The portfolio is managed with a strong sense of accountability rather than through constant transaction activity, and employees are trusted to work independently with support from a small, collaborative head office team.

The culture is pragmatic and people-focused, with a strong respect for autonomy and follow-through. Operators are viewed as essential contributors to the firm's success, and the organization continues to invest thoughtfully in its operating structure and long-term portfolio performance.

Your Role

As a Building Operator, you will be responsible for a defined portion of a Toronto-based, multi-building portfolio and will operate with a high degree of independence. The role is hands-on and operational, focused on maintaining building standards, supporting apartment turnovers, handling minor refinishing work, responding to service requests, and coordinating with trusted external vendors. Major systems work, and large capital projects are outsourced; your value lies in practical judgment, early issue identification, and knowing when to escalate or engage the right trade.

This is a dynamic, urban portfolio where no two days are exactly the same. You'll work closely with property management and administration teams, using a digital work-order system to stay organized and ensure clear communication. Standard hours are weekdays with a regular Saturday component, and on-call availability is part of the role, though after-hours emergencies are infrequent.

What Sets You Apart

You are dependable, hands-on, and comfortable working autonomously across multiple sites. You bring solid experience in building operations or maintenance, a strong practical aptitude, and a calm, professional approach when dealing with tenants, vendors, and colleagues. You are organized, technologically comfortable, and understand that reliability and responsiveness are essential in a role like this. You live in Toronto and can respond quickly when needed.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to step into a visible, trusted role within a growing national real estate platform. You will gain meaningful exposure, develop your operational and financial skills, and build a long-term career at an organization that values accountability, loyalty, and sustained performance.

Compensation

Expected annual compensation of $75,000 – $78,000. Our client also offers 100% employer-paid health benefits and the opportunity to build a long-term career within a stable, well-established real estate platform.
