Causual On Call General Labourer

Casual On Call General Labour required for Rail Yard.

Franks Railway Services, a subcontractor for the railroad, is seeking Genset Technicians/general labour. Casual on call day and night shift persons required. You can expect hour shift per pay period. This position may lead to permanent full time employment.

Experience is not necessary. We will train the right candidate.

Applicants must be responsible, reliable and punctual. The successful candidate will be a team player, have confidence in themselves, their skills and their ability to work in a team environment. Time management and the ability to work independently, when required, is an asset.

A valid driver's license and a clean criminal background check is required of the applicants.

Our crews run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in 12 hours shifts. This includes Christmas and all other statutory holidays. The shifts run 3 days on and 3 days off. Shifts rotate so weekends are mandatory and fall within the schedule rotation.

Duties include, but are not limited to: Genset Builds, Tear downs, temperature monitoring and adjustment of sensitive loads, yard checks, yard and landscape maintenance, garbage removal, signage change.

FRS Rail takes safety very seriously and we provide the following PPE: hardhat, safety glasses and gloves. Employees are responsible for safety boots and they must be above the ankle with eight holes in total. Once probation is completed, employees are entitled to an annual boot allowance.

Pay: $18.25 per hour
