Responsibilities
  • Works from a team approach to meet residents' needs.
  • Assesses and reports physical, mental and emotional changes in resident's condition.
  • Plans, prioritizes and initiates resident care.
  • Administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
  • Maintains supervision of care provided by Resident Assistants (RA) and State Tested Nursing Assistants (STNA):
    • Maintains staffing ratios.
    • Assigns residents to caregivers.
    • Initiates and follows through with disciplinary action when necessary including completion and presentation of proper forms.
    • Provides guidance to RA's and STNA's as needed.
  • Documents pertinent information using established policies/guidelines.
  • Maintains continuity of care.
  • Facilitates Wellness Conferences as assigned.
  • Communicates job/resident related questions/concerns, and suggestions through the established chain of command.
  • Provides a safe environment.
  • Reports physical, mental and emotional changes in resident's condition to attending physician and to the resident's responsible party.
  • All other duties as assigned and/or appropriate to the position.
