Together with a broad range of key interest holders, the position will ensure municipal facility projects are implemented using strong project management fundamentals and fiscal diligence. This role will be assigned to a combination of new facility asset projects as well as lifecycle maintenance projects on existing facilities. As you implement this diverse portfolio, you will have the opportunity to enhance your project management skills in many areas, such as; building maintenance, sustainable construction, capital planning and analysis, procurement, managing consulting/contractor services, contributing to the Town's asset management databases, managing budgets, and grant procurement. The Facilities Project Manager will have the following specific accountabilities:Project and Procurement Management:Function as an in-house project management and procurement expert by developing departmental practices and procedures, and providing cross departmental supportLead the delivery of projects from initial planning stages to final close-outProcure goods and services, and administer their contractsThoroughly monitor and control projects, scope, budget, schedule, performance, and maintain recordsEngage with interest holdersAssets Management System:Inputs information into the Town's asset management Systems, plans and budgetsMaster Planning & Budgeting:Coordinate updates to building condition assessments, spatial needs studies, and other master plansInform the short, medium, and long term capital plansLiaise and collaborate with other Town of Canmore DepartmentsSecure and administer grant fundingHealth and Safety:Understand and follow the Employee responsibilities as outlined in the Town of Canmore Health & Safety DirectiveEnsure project contractors receive safety orientation and follow the Town of Canmore Health & Safety DirectiveParticipates in the Town's health & safety program and complies with all legislation, policies, directives, procedures and Safe Work Practices relevant to the task being performedEducation & Qualifications:Certificate or degree in Project Management, or minimum of 5 years related experience - requiredPost-secondary education – requiredin related field – assetStandard 1st Aid & AED – assetAbilities & Experience:Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working in building construction management or related fieldPrevious experience managing staff, contractors and consultantsExperience creating agendas, minutes, correspondence, documentation and presentationsTechnically competent with software programs such as; MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint asset management, and project management softwareEffective negotiation and conflict resolution skillsAbility to implement public consultation processesStrong written and oral communication skillsComfortable leading multiple projects simultaneously, large budgets (>$1M), developing financial business cases, and analyzing dataFamiliar with building systems, sustainable building technology, accessibility standards, and universal access guidelinesSalary and Benefits:Salary Range - $99, $104,722.80 per annumFull time permanent positionCompetitive Salary, benefits package, & personal wellness planGenerous RRSP matching planPersonal development & learning opportunitiesPositive work cultureWork-Life BalanceClosing Date for Applications: This posting will remain open until January 5th, 2026.How to Apply: To apply, please combine your cover letter and resume into a single document (PDF or Work) Please take the time to write a cover letter that includes the following information about yourself:Why do you want to work as a Facilities Project Manager for the Town of Canmore?
