Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated
Nuclear Medicine Technologist
to join our medical imaging team in Kamloops, British Columbia. In this role, you will perform nuclear medicine procedures, prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate imaging equipment, and ensure accurate acquisition and interpretation of diagnostic images. Your work directly contributes to early detection, treatment planning, and improved patient outcomes.


Responsibilities


• Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals following safety and regulatory standards


• Perform a wide range of nuclear medicine imaging procedures, including SPECT and SPECT/CT


• Position patients accurately to ensure optimal image quality and comfort


• Operate gamma cameras and related imaging equipment with precision


• Perform quality control checks on equipment and radiopharmaceutical kits


• Assess image quality and repeat studies when necessary


• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide reassurance throughout procedures


• Maintain accurate documentation, imaging records, and radiation safety logs


• Follow ALARA principles and all radiation safety protocols


• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other imaging team members


• Support workflow efficiency and contribute to a safe, professional patient care environment

Primarily day shifts; occasional evenings/weekends as required

Hospital-based medical imaging department with modern nuclear medicine systems


Requirements – What You'll Bring

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology

Current certification with
CAMRT
or eligibility for BC registration

Experience performing nuclear medicine procedures (SPECT, SPECT/CT, radiopharmaceutical preparation)

Strong technical proficiency in imaging equipment and radiation safety

Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team

Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and adherence to protocols

Commitment to safe, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care
