Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role requires excellent communication skills, classroom management abilities, and a strong commitment to early childhood education principles. Bilingual skills in English and French are highly desirable to support diverse student needs. Duties

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning and development
  • Monitor and assess each child's progress, providing individualized support as needed
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities and share best practices
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and other required documentation
  • Incorporate special education strategies when working with children with disabilities or additional needs
  • Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes
  • Ensure classroom cleanliness and organization to promote safety and hygiene standards

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and collaborate with coworkers.
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations and center policies.

Skills

  • Proficiency in English; bilingual fluency in French is highly preferred
  • Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings
  • Knowledge of early childhood development principles and teaching methodologies
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and team members
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Leadership qualities to guide children's learning experiences confidently
  • Organizational skills for maintaining classroom materials and documentation
  • Experience with special education or working with children with disabilities is a plus
  • Computer operation skills for lesson planning, record keeping, and communication tools
  • Excellent writing skills for documentation and parent correspondence

Qualifications:

  • Level 2, or 3 Early Childhood Educator Certification (Alberta).
  • Current First Aid and CPR.
  • Police Check w/ Vulnerable Sector
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
  • A love for guiding preschoolers as they explore, create, and grow.
