Position Overview: They are seeking a skilled Estimator with excellent communication and project coordination skills to join their team. This critical role will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for commercial painting projects, from new construction to complex renovations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reading blueprints, using estimation software (PlanSwift or similar), and coordinating between various project stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review blueprints and project specifications to prepare precise estimates for commercial painting projects.
- Utilize PlanSwift or similar estimation software to generate accurate cost breakdowns for materials, labor, and other project elements.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to gather necessary project information and clarify any issues or changes.
- Coordinate project timelines, material orders, and labor resources to ensure timely and cost-efficient project delivery.
- Prepare and submit clear, competitive proposals and follow up with clients to address any questions or concerns.
- Monitor project costs during the execution phase to ensure alignment with estimates and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of bids and manage the estimation process from review to final submission.
- Collaborate closely with the project team to ensure all project requirements are met and exceed client expectations.
- Proven experience as an estimator preferably in the commercial painting industry, with a focus on new construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency in estimation software such as PlanSwift, or other industry-standard tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, project managers, and subcontractors.
- Excellent project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial painting materials, labor costs, and industry practices.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing project needs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clarity in proposals, reports, and client interactions.
