Job Description:
Epiq is at the forefront of AI innovation in the legal tech industry. We are looking for a skilled AI Engineer to be a core member of our team as we build a first-of-its-kind agentic platform. This platform will revolutionize how we serve our global customers in the business and practice of law by automating complex processes and creating intelligent workflows.
This role is designed with a distinct growth trajectory. Initially, you will have an internal focus, embedding with our delivery experts to codify their deep knowledge and successful processes into the Epiq agentic platform. Your primary goal during this first phase is to continue to build out the core engine and prove its value on our internal workflows. As the platform matures and its impact is demonstrated, your focus will shift externally. You will then play a key role in adapting and deploying these agentic solutions directly for our clients, integrating the Epiq AI Platform into their workflows and systems, creating new ways of working for our customers
Key Responsibilities:
- Rapid Prototyping and Iteration: Quickly build and test proof-of-concept AI agents and workflows to demonstrate value and gather feedback for refinement.
- Production Deployment and Integration: Deploy and integrate AI solutions into existing enterprise systems and infrastructure, ensuring scalability and reliability. This includes connecting with various APIs and data sources.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of implemented solutions and continuously optimize their performance.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and other engineering teams to drive the development of new AI features and capabilities.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Masters degree is a plus.
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Proven Experience with Agentic AI: Demonstrated experience in designing and building multi-agent systems and complex, adaptive workflows.
- Expertise in Agentic Frameworks: Hands-on experience with frameworks like n8n for workflow automation, CrewAI for orchestrating role-playing autonomous agents, and Sim Studio for visually building and deploying AI agent workflows. Familiarity with other tools like LangChain or AutoGen would be a plus.
- Strong Understanding of MCP: In-depth knowledge of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for building servers that enable Large Language Models (LLMs) to interact with external tools and data sources in a standardized and secure manner.
- MCP Server Knowledge: Practical experience in developing and deploying both local and remote MCP servers, including an understanding frameworks like FastMCP.
- Communication and Problem-Solving: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with various LLMs and their APIs
- Comfortable with advanced prompt engineering concepts
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure
- Knowledge of data engineering and pipeline development
- Understanding of machine learning principles and practices
