The Role

The Team Lead is responsible for overseeing a team of approximately 12-15 individuals who apply excise tax stamps to finished cannabis goods in compliance with federal and provincial regulations. This role ensures operational efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards while fostering a positive and productive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and motivate a team of 12+ employees in the excise stamping process.
• Assign daily tasks and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of production schedules.
• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and compliance requirements.
• Ensure all finished goods are stamped accurately and in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor workflow and implement process improvements to maximize efficiency and minimize errors.
• Maintain accurate records of stamped inventory and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
• Enforce strict adherence to Health Canada and provincial cannabis regulations.
• Perform quality checks to verify proper stamp placement and product integrity.
• Train new team members on stamping procedures, safety protocols, and compliance standards.
• Promote a safe work environment by enforcing company safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in cannabis operations, manufacturing, or inventory management.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of cannabis compliance regulations and excise stamping requirements.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Comfortable working in a highly regulated environment

What will set you apart

• Experience in sage software
• Previously ability to operate a lift truck
• Previous Cannabis experience
• Previous knowledge of GPP, GAP and/or GMP regulations
