The formation of OCL was a direct result of a few long-tenured industry professionals with entrepreneurial spirits, wanting to get back to their roots and build an organization where people matter. Formed in 2009, OCL started their first project and began building around a business model focused on "People" and "Doing the Job Right".

The Role
We are currently recruiting for qualified and experienced Quality Control Level 2 Inspectors to join our team at Kearl Oil Sands, a major oil sands site in Northern Alberta. The successful candidates will work in a safety-first environment on a 14/14 rotation. Camp accommodations and meals provided. Charter flights provided from designated hubs in Edmonton and Calgary with flight allowances based on the province located.
This project is 6 months in duration and will be starting in January

Support implementation of multi-discipline ITPs aQuality oversight of civil, structural, mechanical & piping disciplinesValidation of work associated with the multi-discipline Construction Work PackagesPreparation of Inspection and Test Plan (ITP)Reviewing of Subcontractors quality documentation and provide approvalMaterial receiving inspection and verificationMaintaining welder qualification recordMonitoring welding and carrying out final weld visual inspectionCoordinate, monitor and review NDT and reportingVerifying all NDT completion releasing the piping for hydro testFinal piping reinstatement inspection and witnessing applicable bolt torqueExperience with weld mapping and as-built drawingsFlange face inspectionHydrotest package review and test witnessingPrepare inspection walkdown notification and close out punchlist items.Turnover binder progressive development, review and completionSkills/Education/Qualifications
CWB Level 2 certification with 5+ years of experienceStrong time management skills and ability to handle a multitude of concurrent tasksExcellent Microsoft Office and Google Docs. computer skillsSelf-motivated, organized and able to work in a high-pressure deadline driven environment.Understands Quality Inspection Procedures, Tools and EquipmentMust be able to climb scaffolding, access trenches and work in variable weather conditions.Knowledge of ASME, ABSA, and CSA codes and client standards structureExperience working in a live plant environment.Brown/Green field experience Civil, structural, mechanical & piping experience Must be willing to complete a criminal background checkMust be able to pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol testMust be legally eligible to work in Canada
