We're looking for a Red Seal Certified Electrician to join our Athabasca OSB Division, located in Slave Lake, Alberta.  This state-of-the-art facility has the longest continuous press in North America, giving us the ability to produce a diverse range of innovative products for customers around the world.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications: 

  •  Experience working as an Electrician with a valid Interprovincial Red Seal ticket.
  •  Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills.
  •  Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) - preferably JD Edwards.
  •  Strong communication skills.
  •  Ability to work independently and with a team. 
  •  Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. 
  •  Previous experience in a forest products environment is considered an asset.

In this role you will:

  • Apply your knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems to troubleshoot electrical issues and come up with safe, reliable fixes. 
  • Use your broad electrical experience to do preventative maintenance as well as installations and upgrades, working on a variety of motors, hydraulic motion controls, optimizers and encoders.
  • Come up with innovative solutions to improve equipment reliability.
  • Apply your organizational and planning skills to carry out maintenance projects and programs.
