Summary

The Assistant Head Nurses assess residents' health status, determine nursing care and treatment plans and ensure their implementation, provide nursing and medical care and treatment to maintain residents' health, and provide palliative care.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with licensed practical nurses and beneficiary attendants to set goals for each resident.
  • Promote residents' wellbeing and care quality using the "living environment" approach.
  • Assist the Unit Managers in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating nursing services to provide quality care to residents and promote independence and quality of life.
  • Respond to clinical emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ) member.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or courses in geriatrics an asset.
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English and French. This job requires English to meet residents' needs, who are primarily English speakers.
  • Two years' experience in a similar job an asset.

Résumé

L'assistant-infirmier-chef évalue l'état de santé des résidents, détermine les plans de soins et de traitement infirmiers et assure leur mise en oeuvre, fournit des soins et traitements infirmiers et médicaux pour maintenir la santé des résidents et prodigue des soins palliatifs.

Responsabilités

  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les infirmières auxiliaires et les préposés aux bénéficiaires pour fixer des objectifs pour chaque résident.
  • Favorise le bien-être des résidents et la qualité des soins grâce à l'approche "milieu de vie".
  • Aide le chef d'unité à planifier, organiser, diriger et évaluer les services infirmiers afin de fournir des soins de qualité aux résidents et de promouvoir l'indépendance et la qualité de vie.
  • Répond aux urgences cliniques.

Exigences

  • Membre de l'Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ).
  • Baccalauréat en sciences infirmières ou cours en gériatrie, un atout.
  • Bonne connaissance de l'anglais et du français, écrits et parlés. Ce poste requiert l'anglais pour répondre aux besoins des résidents, qui sont principalement anglophones.
  • Deux ans d'expérience dans un emploi similaire, un atout.

Pay: $29.81-$51.09 per hour
