About this role:

As a Funeral Attendant at Gray's Funeral Chapel, located in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan you will have the opportunity to provide outstanding customer service to the families we serve by providing support to Funeral Directors in all aspects of funeral services, including: greeting and assisting families upon their arrival at the funeral home, assisting the Funeral Director on services, and driving funeral vehicles when required.

We are looking to fill this position with a qualified, action-oriented and self-motivated individual who is capable of prioritizing and handling multiple demands simultaneously. The successful candidate must be able to work rotating shifts which may include evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays. Hours of work will be on a part time, call-in basis.

Job Type: Part Time, Permanent, On-call

Key Qualifications and Demonstrated Abilities:

• Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and consistently high level of accuracy.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; verbal, written and presentation.
• Demonstrates strong customer service skills with the ability to partner will all levels of the organization.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Exemplifies Arbor's values of compassion, integrity, trust, teamwork and excellence.
• Demonstrates active community involvement and establishes a positive profile of the Funeral Home within the community.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving abstract is a mandatory requirement for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist families upon their arrival at the funeral home
• Arrange the transfer of decedent to the funeral home or crematorium as required.
• May assist with the dignified and safe transfer of a deceased to the care of the funeral home.
• Assist with the preparation of various rooms, during visitations, various rituals, funeral services, burials and any other task related.
• Drive funeral vehicles when required by the funeral home.
• Perform general building upkeep and ensures the proper maintenance of funeral service vehicles including washing, interior care, cleaning, polishing, general vehicle maintenance including scheduling and service care plans.
• Other duties or special projects as required.
