Wire Shop Labourer

Northern Metalic Sales is part of a larger, diverse group of companies with interests in wholesale distribution, oilfield service & supply, lubricants distribution, wire rope & hose, safety supplies & field services, land and real estate development, rail construction & transload, and finance.

We are looking to add to our growing team in the role of Wire Rope Shop Hand for our Clairmont, AB location.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect, pull test and certify various new and used rigging components and assemblies.
• Building custom assemblies to customer specifications with chain, wire and synthetic ropes to engineered specifications.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, organized and safe work environment. Includes but is not limited to:
• Putting away stock and inventory management.
• Assisting with material handling using forklifts, hand trucks & overhead crane.
• Performing basic maintenance tasks on tools and equipment such as cleaning and lubrication.

Skills and Qualifications:

• One (1) or more years of experience in rigging / rigging inspection is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate. Individuals with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be given preference.
• Physical Fitness required, must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for 8 hours per day. Tasks include pushing, pulling, kneeling.
• Ideal candidate will have strong ambition to learn, attention to detail, safety awareness, and be able to work effectively as a team to complete tasks efficiently.
• Compliance with health, safety, cleanliness and adhering to company policies and programs within the shop are critical. A positive attitude and strong work ethics are must have for this position.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
