Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our Happy Harry's team in Dartmouth. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to operate heavy equipment when necessary. The Delivery Driver plays a crucial part in our logistics operations, supporting the efficient transport of products and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport products to designated customers and between store locations
  • Verify delivery orders and ensure accuracy of shipments before departure
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and tracking of any errors/discrepancies at the time of receipt
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
  • Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations during transportation
  • Responsible for following work processes as established for the department
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Other duties assigned by any manager or supervisor
  • Assist with warehouse duties

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Demonstrated experience operating a delivery vehicle such as a 5-ton, cube van, etc. with a safety-first mentality
  • Valid driver's license – Class 5 for at least 2 Years and a Valid Driver's License – Class 3
  • English required
  • Clean driving record
  • Drivers abstract
  • Previous experience as a delivery driver of cube vans/larger delivery vehicles is an asset

Skills and Abilities

  • High attention to detail and a self-starter able to work independently in the absence of direct supervision and ability to make sound decisions
  • Attention to detail, load, and route planning, and understanding paperwork and logging procedures
  • Compliance with company policies regarding company image
  • Good customer service skills
  • Be available to work additional hours as per customer needs and seasonal workload demands
  • Abide by and adhere to all tasks and procedures outlined in the HH Distributing Company Limited Employee Manual and any other distributed documents.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required.
