We're looking for a forward‑thinking HR Director to champion the people and culture agenda across our Canadian business. As a key member of the Canadian Leadership Team—the country's HR lead—you'll partner closely with executives to build and deliver a people strategy that fuels growth, strengthens profitability, and accelerates organizational transformation.

Leading a talented HR team, you'll bring the SBU People Priorities to life with excellence, enabling innovative business models and supporting expansion into new and emerging categories. Your influence will reach the highest levels of the organization as you align local practices with global vision, all while ensuring compliance with Canadian employment legislation.

Your portfolio spans organizational development, talent and culture, IDEA initiatives, health and welfare benefits, pension governance, employee wellness, payroll, change and communications, and employment relations. You'll collaborate with Centers of Excellence and global HR partners to bring globally informed, locally relevant solutions that drive sustainable business results.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic People Leadership and Execution

  • Serve as the HR leader and trusted advisor on the Canadian Leadership Team, shaping and executing the people strategy to drive business transformation, growth, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Partner closely with the General Manager to identify, develop, and accelerate key talent, ensuring robust succession and leadership pipelines for the Canadian business.
  • Lead the development and implementation of local business and people strategies, ensuring alignment with the Enterprise People Strategy and SBU priorities.
  • Partner with senior leaders to anticipate and address business challenges and opportunities, fostering a growth-oriented, inclusive culture.
  • Oversee the integration of global and functional people strategies into local practices, ensuring consistency, relevance, and compliance with Canadian legislation.
  • Lead change management, communication, and engagement initiatives to support organizational transformation and employee experience.
  • Drive succession planning, talent management, and workforce capability initiatives, including support for manufacturing strategies and annual HR planning.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and thought leadership to leaders and managers, strengthening leadership capability and organizational culture.

Human Resources Operations and Administration

  • Lead and oversee the Canadian HR operational agenda directly (hands on) or through team, including employee relations, training needs, legal reviews, relocation support, compensation processes, employee wellness, benefits administration, pension governance, manufacturing payroll support, as well as liaising with government authorities and regulatory document tracking.
  • Monitor local mandates, review, update, and ensure compliance of HR policies and procedures with Canadian legislation and global standards.
  • Leverages data and key metrics to insight talent health for the SBU.
  • Prepare, review, and manage the HR budget for Canada, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and fiscal discipline.

People Development

  • Lead, manage, and develop the Canadian HR team by providing clear direction, coaching, and growth opportunities that build capability and engagement.
  • Act as a mentor and trusted advisor across the Canadian organization, offering ad hoc guidance and support to leaders and employees to strengthen leadership effectiveness and foster a culture of continuous development.

Global and Regional HR Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with the US HR team and HR Centers of Excellence, leveraging their expertise to address local needs and ensure alignment with enterprise priorities and standards.
  • Collaborate with Centers of Excellence, functional leaders, and HR business partners to deliver locally relevant HR solutions that reflect global standards and best practices.
  • Act as a key liaison and partner between Canadian operations and global HR teams to ensure seamless integration of global initiatives and consistent employee experience across regions.
  • Act as voice of the business to reflect emerging needs, input on design and continuously improve people processes and programs.

Key Skills, Abilities, And Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive HR experience, including HRBP/HR Director roles partnering with senior leaders/executives.
  • At least 3–5 years in HR leadership within a multinational environment; CPG/ FMCG sector experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise as a senior HR generalist, covering payroll, benefits, pension, program design, and strategy development.
  • Thorough knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial employment legislation and HR practices.
  • Strong strategic and business acumen, with sound judgement in decision-making.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational design, talent management, culture, and change management initiatives.
  • Comfortable navigating complexity, ambiguity, and competing demands in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience driving change management and organizational transformation.
