The Lead Hand directs and supports Technicians to ensure efficient, quality work on equipment while building long-term customer relationships and producing profits for the company. Will also perform Technician's work including diagnostics, repair, paperwork, and ensures shop cleanliness & safety.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • 5+ years' experience in heavy duty truck and trailer mechanics

  • Journeyman designation is preferred

  • Previous supervision experience preferred

  • Valid Class 1 with Air Driver's License an asset (for road testing) an asset

  • Safety Inspections Certificate an asset

  • A team player with a strong commitment to the customer

  • Proven leadership skills including motivating, coaching, and training

  • Demonstrated quality control skills and attention to detail

  • Organized, sets priorities and meets deadlines

  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Excellent fact finding and analytical skills

  • Basic computer skills and learning ability of programs used internally

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform demanding physical activities

  • Familiar with the tools of the trade and equipped with adequate tools

  • Reliable means of transportation (there is no public transportation service near the workplace)

· A 'Tool and Boot' Allowance of 100% reimbursement to a maximum of $700 per calendar year

· Maxim will pay for 100% of eligible course and book expenses to a maximum of $1000 per level of Apprenticeship Training
