Ride Motor Company is a fast-growing Canadian powersports and automotive finance company helping customers get approved on ATVs, side-by-sides, motorcycles, boats, travel trailers, and vehicles—regardless of credit history. We're looking for a Controller to bring structure, accuracy, and leadership to our financial operations. Our current Controller is being promoted.

About the Role

The Controller will oversee all accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal controls while working closely with ownership to support growth, compliance, and profitability. This is a senior role suited for someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations (AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations)
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and tax requirements
  • Oversee lender reconciliations, commissions, and funding reports
  • Maintain and improve internal controls and financial processes
  • Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors
  • Support leadership with financial insights and reporting
  • Assist with scaling systems as the company grows

Qualifications

  • CPA designation preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years experience in accounting or finance, including senior-level responsibility
  • Strong understanding of Canadian accounting and tax regulations
  • Experience with multi-lender or finance-heavy businesses is a strong asset
  • Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel / reporting skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Automotive, Powersports, RV Dealership experience a strong asset
