Position Title:  Lead Payroll Specialist

Client Details:

Our client is a Global Fortune 500 Publicly Traded Company providing supplies, equipment, service, and digital technology to medical industry

Role Summary:

Our client Payroll Manager is looking for Lead Payroll Specialist who is responsible for producing two (2) accurate payrolls of different frequency and ensuring multi-jurisdictional compliance across Canada. This role provides customer centric, efficient service to all stakeholders post processing reporting. In addition this position analyzes data and prepares reports as required.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Budget Planning

Ensures the accurate and timely production of two (2) multi-jurisdictional payrolls, bonus runs, vacation pay, termination payments, ROEs (approx. 400 employees, including salaried and hourly)Ensures all payroll payments/deductions are in compliance with applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations. Also ensures that payroll meets all audit standards and SOX controlsPrepares information for effective and timely communication of payroll-related reporting to other company departments and senior management as neededPerforms payroll reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance of the payroll system, including SOX testingAssist in the creation of T2200 & TP64.3 documentsAssists with all year-end reporting requirements including, but not limited to, T4, RL1 processing and reconciliation, WSIB reconciliation, and Employee Health Tax reconciliationsResponsible for journal entries, month end and ad hoc reporting as requiredParticipates in special projects and performs other duties as required and or directedCommunicate effectively and provide strong customer service to stakeholders at various levels, both internal and external.Location:

Requirements:
Enrolment or completion of the National Payroll Institute (PCP) certificationUniversity or College Degree preferably in Business or a related field3 to 5 years of experience in multi province payroll processingAdvanced proficiencies in all Microsoft Office and intermediate to advanced skills in ExcelSystem implementation experience is an assetKnowledge of ADP payroll system, experience leading system upgrades including , Workforce NowAccounting knowledge of payroll entries and account reconciliationsDiscretion and confidentiality when dealing with information and compensation related mattersAbility to manage strict deadlinesAbility to plan and prioritize and analyze
