Job Title: Thermal Lab Technician – Development Testing

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Thermal Lab Technician to support the development and validation of advanced thermal and liquid cooling solutions for high-speed I/O connectors. This role is critical to ensuring product performance and reliability through hands-on testing, data analysis, and customer reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Thermal Testing & Setup

  • Execute thermal and liquid cooling tests on prototype and production-level components.
  • Set up and operate test equipment including thermal chambers, flow benches, and data acquisition systems.
  • Ensure accurate sensor placement and calibration for temperature, pressure, and flow measurements.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Collect and analyze thermal performance data using tools such as Excel, MATLAB, or Python.
  • Interpret results to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for design improvement.
  • Generate clear, professional customer-facing reports summarizing test procedures, results, and conclusions.

Lab Operations

  • Maintain lab equipment and ensure calibration and safety standards are met.
  • Support engineering teams with test planning and fixture design.
  • Document procedures and maintain organized records of test results and configurations.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with product development engineers to align testing with design goals.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback based on test outcomes.
  • Support customer validation efforts and respond to technical inquiries related to thermal testing.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Sciences, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in thermal testing or lab technician role.
  • Familiarity with liquid cooling systems, heat sinks, cold plates, and thermal interface materials.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
