About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Front counter /customer service.
  • Establish and sustain customer relationships by ethically and professionally representing Westvac Industrial Ltd.
  • Maintain customer profiles and contact information.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Provide customer quotes, and fulfill incoming customer orders via email or phone.
  • Process internal /back counter work orders and issue or distribute parts, accessories, and supplies for internal usage.
  • Advise retail customers or internal users on the appropriateness of parts, supplies, or materials requested.
  • Prepare and ship external and internal orders received from other branches.
  • Receive and sort incoming parts, accessories, and supplies, and participate in inventory counts, at least annually.
  • Effectively source the best quality items available for the most reasonable cost.
  • Perform parts runs as needed.
  • Order and store items in an organized and accessible manner.
  • Process work orders and maintain quantities, varieties, and locations of parts, accessories, and available supplies through our operating system: Intellidealer /CDK.
  • Manage inventory levels of parts and equipment.
  • Coordinate the maintenance of company vehicles, equipment, and building.
  • Participate in and lead Safety Committee activities.

Qualifications

  • A journeyman certification, apprentice or related experience as a parts technician.
  • Experience as a service writer/advisor overseeing multiple schedules.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of office software programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience in Health & Safety functions.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong record-keeping skills.
  • Mechanical knowledge or previous industrial equipment, or related parts experience.
  • Valid driver's license, and abstract.
  • Previous experience or certification in forklift operation.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment components, parts, and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Push /pull up to 250 lbs.
  • Bending, climbing stairs, and stepladders intermittently, and standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
  • Comfortable performing some outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Proficient with equipment operation, and various tools.
  • Adherence to safety policies, training procedures, and PPE requirements associated with the role.

Pay range and compensation package

A Service Writer/Parts Technician can range from $ $30.00 hourly. (dependent on experience and matched requirements).
