Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Early Childhood Assistant to support the development and well-being of young children in a nurturing educational environment. This position is a split shift so the hours are set at 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 and then 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. with possible extensions on PD Days and Non-Instructional Days. This role involves working closely with lead teachers and caregivers to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive space for children to learn and grow. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives while gaining valuable experience in the field of early childhood education.

Duties

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and activities tailored to children's developmental needs
  • Support children with their daily routines
  • Provide attentive caregiving to ensure children's safety, comfort, and emotional well-being
  • Engage children in age-appropriate educational activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
  • Foster an inclusive environment by working effectively with children with diverse needs
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, including sanitizing toys and learning materials
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and daily experiences
  • Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and social interactions among children

Qualifications

  • Prior classroom experience or background in early childhood education is preferred
  • Experience working with children,
  • Strong caregiving skills with a nurturing and patient approach
  • Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices in education
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team of educators and caregivers
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Reliable, responsible, and committed to creating a safe learning environment for young children

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.20-$20.20 per hour
