Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong background in swimming and physical education. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality swim instruction to students of all ages and skill levels, ensuring a safe and enjoyable learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct swim lessons for individuals and groups, adapting instruction to meet the needs of each student.
  • Assess students' swimming abilities and develop personalized lesson plans to help them achieve their goals.
  • Maintain a safe and positive environment during lessons, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with students and their families regarding progress and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other instructors and staff to enhance the overall swim program.
  • Provide behavior management support to ensure a respectful and focused learning atmosphere.
  • Engage in monthly staff training to stay up to date with current swim instructor practices.
  • Maintaining accurate log of all skills completed.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a swimming instructor is highly desirable.
  • Lifeguard certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with students in various settings, including childcare, health clubs, gyms, or schools.
  • A strong understanding of behavior management techniques is essential for maintaining an effective learning environment.

Expected Hours

  • 6-24 hours per week.
  • Swimming Lessons are offered Monday-Thursday 4pm-7:30pm, Friday 4pm-6:30pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am-12pm.
  • 8 week term.
