About us

The Standard - Located at 10 James St. N is one Hamilton's top culinary destinations. We are now looking to grow our team. We are looking for a experienced lead bartender with industry leading mixology knowledge. Someone who is current on technique and understands the subtle nuances of what makes a great cocktail. Our bar team works with a ever changing menu, and designs and creates pairings to our tasting menus weekly.

Our bar team operates with an ambitious and evolved approach to cocktails. Also with a ever evolving offering, the commitment to the craft is ever present. From clarification to ultrasonic emulsion we are constantly challenging ourselves.

What we are looking for

  • Experienced: Has 2+ years of experience as a bartender in a high-volume, cocktail-focused environment.
  • Knowledgeable: Possesses a deep knowledge of spirits, classic cocktail recipes, and modern mixology techniques.
  • Certified: Holds a valid Smart Serve certification.
  • Personable: Has a natural flair for hospitality, with an engaging personality and the ability to build rapport with guests and team members.
  • Professional: Is reliable, detail-oriented, and maintains composure and efficiency under pressure.

Duties:

  • Greet and seat guests in a friendly and welcoming manner
  • Provide menus to guests and explain daily specials
  • Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently
  • Enter orders into the POS system and ensure accuracy
  • Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely manner
  • Check on guests throughout their dining experience to ensure satisfaction
  • Clear and clean tables after guests have finished dining
