Application Engineering is designed to support the products used in the business, focusing on line extensions, sustaining activities, VAVE, localization, approvals, all to maximize the performance of the product lines during its life span.

As Industrial Heating Cable Application Engineer for the North American region you are responsible for the parallel and series cables used in the Industry. This Includes:

  1. Parallel Polymer Heating Systems Cables & Components

  2. Polymer Insulated (SC) Systems Cables & Components

  3. Mineral Insulated (MI) Heating Systems Cables and Components

  4. Fire-Rated and Performance Wiring

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

Engineering & Sales Support

  • Act as a subject matter expert for assigned product lines, providing advanced technical support to sales teams, distributors, channel partners, and end users.
  • Support the organization with products and product tools that help drive sales success, including:
  • Vision and strategy based on market research, customer feedback, and business priorities.
  • Product application overviews including sales presentations, value calculators, tools, technical white papers, training content, videos, case studies and product references
  • Competitive comparisons and battle cards
  • Partner with the sales organization to enable consultative selling and provide expert insight during customer engagements, including customer-facing training sessions, demonstrations, and technical seminars.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, marketing, pricing and sales teams to positions products to market successfully.

Product Line Performance

  • Gather and prioritize product requirements, translating them into actionable cross functional plans to expand EBITDA, including product improvements, optimizing cost, quality, productivity, lead times, and margin.
  • Work in cross functional teams to improve processes to optimize logistics, after sales activities, trainings, warranty issues
  • Product line maintenance including but not limited to:
  • Rebranding
  • Maintenance of customer-facing collateral/Web/PIM
  • Maintenance of approvals
  • Define and execute product lifecycle management
  • Initiate and help executing product line extensions
  • Define and execute product line improvements to improve customer value
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and provide voice of customer to maintain differentiation and competitiveness.
  • Support NPI projects by monitoring, support and course correct where needed based on VOC activities, application and market knowledge

Marketing & Training Support

  • Partner with Marketing to ensure product messaging and technical differentiation are clearly communicated.
  • Contribute to the development of training materials and deliver engaging sessions to internal and external audiences.
  • Provide expert input to support development of catalogs, launch kits, competitive alerts, sales enablement tools and other marketing collateral.
  • Drive the use of digital and AI-based tools for efficient knowledge roll-out to sales, technical support and customers leading to customer satisfaction and long-term relationship building.

YOU HAVE:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline with a minor in Marketing and/or Business is required. MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of Product Marketing, Product Management or related experience required.
  • Experience working with distributors, direct sales and manufacturer's reps is required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Assertive, facilitative, & positive a self-starter with a strong accountability for performance.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills; able to concisely frame data in ways appropriate to different level of the organization.
  • Comfortable leading cross-functional and multi-regional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time and prioritize based on business value.
