The Role:
This is a cross-functional role to allow for flexibility within the operation covering lunches and breaks, covering illness/absences, and supporting seasonal/volume demands.
What you get to do:
Primary Role
- Perform assigned labouring job tasks such as packing product into cartons, and cases and/or loading onto pallets
- Assist the Machine Operator with sanitation, quality checks, troubleshooting and problem-solving of the line equipment as required
- Ensure equipment is adequately supplied with the correct amount of material needed for each shop order
Secondary Role
This position has the expectation to be trained in and perform in the Packaging Machine Operator role when required:
- Conduct the set-up, start-up and operation of various packaging machines.
- Perform routine checks to ensure production meets quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve minor mechanical issues.
NOTE: When required to flex out of the Primary Role the employee will receive the rate of the job being performed.
What you bring to the role:
- Minimum High School Diploma / OSSD
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- High-speed machine operating experience
- Ability to perform necessary tasks by reaching, lifting, and standing when required
- Ability to communicate with all departments regarding activities
- Shows initiative, takes directions and executes plans efficiently
- Leads by example, with a can-do and positive attitude.
- Demonstrates accuracy and detail-oriented
- Understands right-first-time quality
- Must possess technical aptitude. Technical background is an asset
- Able to work flexible hours (overtime and periodic weekends required)
- Performs all duties through safe work habits and excellent work ethics
Other important information:
- Shift Pattern: Weekly MAD Rotation (Midnight/Afternoon/Day)
