Job Zone d'emploi is looking for a motivated and relationship-focused Job Developer to join our team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will work closely with employers and job seekers to create successful employment matches, promote our services, and support individuals facing barriers to work.

As a Job Developer, you will:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers.
  • Promote Job Zone d'emploi's services and discuss current and upcoming hiring needs.
  • Conduct cold calls and in-person outreach to identify job opportunities.
  • Assess employer eligibility for subsidies and negotiate placement agreements.
  • Prepare job descriptions, training plans, and placement contracts.
  • Interview clients to assess their job goals and readiness.
  • Stay current with labour market trends, wages, and working conditions.
  • Facilitate group sessions as required.
  • Manage a caseload and provide ongoing employment supports.
  • Work toward achieving all program and activity targets.

As a non-profit, bilingual organization, we support individuals in finding work through employment counselling, job search assistance, training opportunities, and referrals to community resources. We also partner closely with employers, offering recruitment support, labour market information, and HR planning assistance.

  • Have strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Be empathetic and able to support individuals experiencing employment barriers.
  • Feel comfortable with public speaking and group facilitation.
  • Understand local labour market trends and job search strategies.
  • Be familiar with local businesses and community partners.
  • Bring strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize.
  • Value diversity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Work well in a team environment.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Experience in marketing, sales, or employer engagement
  • Excellent communication skills in English (French is an asset)
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle

Work Environment

This position involves both office-based work and regular travel to local businesses, industries, and schools within Stormont and Dundas.

A professional, neat appearance is required (casual business attire). Safety equipment will be provided and must be worn on construction sites.

This is a 35-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekend hours as needed.

Use of office equipment, including program-specific software, is required.
