Transway Transport is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Supervisor to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a safety professional with a strong background in commercial transportation who is passionate about promoting compliance, driver training, and a culture of safety excellence.

Job description

  • Oversee and enforce all safety programs, policies, and compliance standards within the trucking division.
  • Ensure full compliance with MTO, DOT, and FMCSA regulations, including Hours of Service, vehicle inspections, and driver documentation.
  • Conduct driver orientations, safety training sessions, and refresher programs to reinforce best practices and company standards.
  • Monitor and review CVOR records, logbooks, incident reports, and vehicle maintenance documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with dispatch and operations teams to address safety-related concerns and prevent reoccurrences.
  • Maintain organized records of training, audits, and compliance activities.
  • Stay updated with the latest transportation safety regulations and industry best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a safety or compliance role within the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Strong knowledge of MTO, DOT, and FMCSA regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to conduct engaging driver training sessions.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, identify risks, and implement corrective measures.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficient with MS Office and transportation compliance software (e.g., ISAAC, Samsara, or similar).
