The Procurement Team Lead, reporting to the Manager Procurement will be responsible for overseeing their procurement team to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality sourcing of goods and services. This role involves managing supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with company policies. The Team Lead acts as a bridge between procurement operations and strategic sourcing initiatives.
What You'll Do Here
- Supervise and mentor procurement team members, providing guidance and performance feedback.
- Allocate workload and ensure adherence to deadlines and KPIs.
- Oversee purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier onboarding processes.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to avoid stockouts or overstocking
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions
- Evaluate supplier performance and address issues proactively
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives and category management
- Ensure adherence to legal, ethical, and sustainability standards in procurement practices
- Mitigate supply chain risks through contingency planning
- Prepare and present procurement reports, including spend analysis and supplier performance metrics
What You Bring To The Team
- 5+ years of procurement experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong leadership and clear, effective communication skills
- Proficiency with procurement tools, ERP systems, and related technologies
- Solid understanding of procurement regulations, policies, and industry best practices
- Strategic and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet tight deadlines under pressure
