Hiring Unit: Department of Surgery and Division of Surgical and Interventional Sciences
Course Title and Course Number: Surgical Innovation 2 and EXSU 621

Total Hours of Work per Term: 45
Position Summary: Assists the instructors in making the student presentation roster based on predetermined research thematic areas, grading, answering questions by email, and other basic course management tasks. Assist with organization of course materials on myCourses. Assist in the conduct of interactive lab-sessions. Grade exams and assist in grading assignments and presentations. The TA will be expected to compile the feedback scores for the student presentations submitted by the peers and binarize them. Provide assistance to students on conceptual clarification and communicate areas of confusion to the instructor.
Qualifications:
Only Current Masters or Doctoral student registered at McGill are eligible to apply as Teaching Assistant. Preferably in the field of health sciences (Experimental Surgery, Experimental Medicine, Epidemiology, Public Health, and/or related fields). Good Communication skills. Experience navigating MyCourses and Zoom for external lecturers. Understanding of topics related to surgical outcomes research is expected, but not essential. Having taken EXSU 621 before is an asset.
Graduate teaching experience is preferred and an asset.
