Experienced DZ Driver – Full Time

Location: APPS Transport Oakville Terminal

Position Type: Full-Time, Monday – Friday

Start Time: Between 5:00 AM – 7:00 AM Daily

Starting Wage: $26.63 per hour, increasing to $27.16 per hour after 3 months

APPS Transport Group is currently seeking an Experienced DZ Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years DZ LTL driving experience in the GTA and surrounding area. We are looking for someone who consistently projects a professional and courteous manner in all interactions while maintaining positive customer relationships. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety and deliver shipments efficiently in compliance with MOT regulations.

Requirements:

· Minimum 3 years experience as a DZ Truck Driver.

· Ability to drive long hours and lift 20-50 lbs.

· Able to off load skids & 30 lb boxes of alcohol & wine products.

· Knowledge & experience in the safe use of a liftgate

· Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.

· Valid DZ License with a clean driver abstract and no recent moving violations.

· Adaptability to unexpected situations such as traffic and weather conditions.

· Willingness to undergo background checks and provide employment recommendations.

· Strong focus on safety and attention to detail.

· Trucking school diploma is an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

· Deliver merchandise in a safe, efficient manner while adhering to all MOT regulations.

· Perform mandatory daily vehicle inspections and report all equipment needs to the Fleet Manager.

· Complete all required documentation, including run sheets, logbooks, and inspection reports accurately and on time.

· Report any delays to Dispatch or the Driver Manager immediately.

· Inspect and monitor all goods being loaded or unloaded, verifying piece counts and general condition.

· Record detailed pickup and delivery information, including freight damage descriptions, piece counts, and signatures from shippers/receivers.

· Follow all company policies and procedures outlined in the Driver Handbook.

· Attend mandatory safety courses provided by the Manager of Safety and Compliance.
