At Acumenex, we help Canadian veterinarians succeed in the digital marketplace with myVETstore – our eCommerce platform that allows clinics to sell pet products online. We're growing quickly and are on track to become Canada's leading web services partner for veterinary clinics and colleges.

To support this growth, we're hiring an experienced IT Director to lead our IT operations, infrastructure, and cybersecurity strategy.

What You'll Do

  • Lead IT Operations – Manage incident response, system uptime, Azure cloud, VPN, WAF, and staging/production environments.
  • Own Cybersecurity & Compliance – Implement MFA, SSO, password policies, device security, and user access governance.
  • Manage Cloud & Applications – Administer Microsoft 365 (Office, Teams, SharePoint, Exchange) plus RingCentral, ZenDesk, Power BI, CertPanel, and GoDaddy.
  • Oversee Vendors & Budget – Negotiate contracts, manage IT spend, and optimize vendor relationships.
  • Support Users & Devices – Provide daily IT support, secure laptops/phones, and oversee onboarding/offboarding.
  • Drive IT Strategy – Build and deliver the IT roadmap aligned with business goals; partner with Product, Sales, Support, Finance, and HR.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of IT operations & infrastructure experience (ideally in 25–100 person companies).
  • Strong background in Azure Cloud and Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with ZenDesk, Power BI, RingCentral.
  • Skilled in vendor management and contract negotiation.
  • Certifications (Azure Admin Associate, CISSP, ITIL) are an asset.
  • Strong communicator, problem-solver, and cross-functional leader.

Compensation & Bonus

This role offers a competitive salary of approximately $120,000.

In addition, you'll be eligible for a performance-based bonus. Bonuses are tied to measurable outcomes such as:

  • Cybersecurity and compliance readiness
  • Cost management and vendor optimization
  • Internal user satisfaction and support metrics
  • Execution of IT roadmap milestones

This structure ensures that performance incentives are directly linked to both IT excellence and overall business success.

We regularly calibrate ranges to local market data in the GTA West / Ontario region and keep headroom for exceptional candidates.
