Our People Year in Industry Scheme

At Centrica, we have a People Team like no other. This placement offers you the opportunity to gain experience in a People-related role, such as Employee Relations, Reward, Performance & Talent or Business Partnering.

During your placement, you will make a meaningful contribution to a key People-related activity or project, whilst building valuable business, stakeholder, and organisation skills. You will have the opportunity to get involved in fundraising activities and participate in training with our Emerging Talent team. To ensure you have the best experience, you will be allocated a graduate buddy, who will share their insights and experiences. Additionally, you will have a specialised Placement Intern Manager alongside your Line Manager to oversee your progress and help you gain valuable exposure to the People Team.

Centrica operates a Flexible First approach which means giving colleagues the adaptability they need to carry out their role in a way that works best for them, their team, and our customers. While we work in a hybrid manner – from the office and at home – we believe that having face time at work is incredibly important for growth and development. You'll work flexibly throughout your placement, with your main office location typically being London/Berkshire.

What We Need From You
We want you to count yourself in We welcome people from all walks of life who bring fresh perspectives, live our values, and work in line with our core behaviours. If that sounds like you,
here's what we're looking for:

• Expecting a minimum 2:1 degree (2:2 if combined with a Masters)
• Willing to relocate - adaptability is key to making the most of your experience
• Successful candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK from the start date.
• Available to start the scheme from 16th June 2026

Here's what's in it for you

• You'll be paid a salary of £24,000 (pro rata)
• You'll receive a £2,000 Welcome Bonus with your first salary.
• Based on your performance you will also have the chance to earn a place on our 2028 Graduate Scheme following your final year of university.
