Facilities & Maintenance Technician
Reports to: Senior Operations Manager
Job Purpose: Maintaining the cleanliness, safety, functionality and overall condition of both company buildings. This role performs routine inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, groundskeeping and coordinating external contractors as required to ensure facilities are well maintained and operational.
Key Responsibilities and Accountability:
Maintain cleanliness of building exterior and entrances:
- Cut grass and weed whack as required
- Spread salt and clear snow from walkways and entrances
- Manage waste placement for municipal pick up (weekly garbage, recycling & organics)
Maintain cleanliness of interior of building and entrances:
- Empty garbage, recycling and organics as required
- Replenish washroom supplies and paper products
- Monitor water coolers, replace jugs and order supplies as required
- Check live wall pumps and floor drains as required
Equipment & systems monitoring:
- Monitor air compressors (pressure levels, water separators, auto drains)
- Perform battery water top-ups on lift equipment
- Manage propane exchange for propane-operated lift equipment in accordance with safety procedures
- Manage scrap skids as required
- Identify building defects and minor repair needs (pain, drywall, trim, etc)
Maintenance coordination & compliance:
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the building landlord for maintenance related matters
- Proactively identify maintenance and safety issues
- Coordinate and accompany external contractors when required
- Manage equipment inspections, certifications and compliance requirement
