Electrical Engineer – Power System Studies

• Perform electrical studies such as power flow, short circuit, dynamic analysis and harmonic analysis
• Model and analyze power systems using tools like PSS/E, PSLF, ETAP, ASPEN and PSCAD
• Prepare and review technical reports, specifications and proposals
• Collaborate with clients and project teams to meet scope, schedule and budget requirements
• Assist or lead technical proposal development for study opportunities
• Contribute to FACTS and HVDC control system design, including STATCOM and inverter-based renewable generation.

Summary Of Certifications And Job Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. in electrical engineering (power systems specialization)
• P.Eng. designation or eligibility for registration
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in power systems and studies
• Proficiency with power system software (PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD)
• Experience performing studies such as power flow, short circuit, and dynamic and transient analysis
• Experience with Python
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills
• Familiarity with EMTP, ASPEN and/or RTDS
• Knowledge of electrical protection and control systems
• Familiarity with IEEE, NEC or IEC standards
