POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a 6 month contract role. This contract may be extended, upon approval, and could turn into a full-time role, depending on campus requirements. Please note this position is Monday to Friday, 6 hours per day. Flexibility of shift day to day is a necessity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the age appropriate environment rating scale annually
  • Interacts with Ministry staff and other regulators around licensing requirements for inspection purposes
  • Follows the Centre's Quality Assurance Cycle when using program evaluation tools
  • Provides positive social experiences
  • Facilitates and understanding of a variety of cultures and value systems
  • Provides a physically safe and emotionally supportive environment
  • Implement emergency procedures
  • Attending to the child's physical needs
  • Actively participates in required training sessions within Childventures curriculum and community sponsored professional development
  • Provide age-appropriate programs to enhance the children's cognitive, physical, social and emotional development.
  • Prepare weekly program plans meeting all requirements of curriculum
  • Daily observations
  • Maintain child records

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in an Early Childhood Educator position is an asset
  • Early Childhood education including:
  • RECE Registered Early Childhood Educator
  • ECE Early Childhood Educator
  • CYW Child Youth Worker
  • CYC Child and Youth Care
  • ECA Early Childhood Assistant
  • EA Educational Assistant

MINISTRY REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 Step TB Skin Test
  • Updated Immunizations (Tetanus, MMR)
  • Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
